Birthday at Jones' Family Ranch

We were invited by Cindy's colleague Camilla to join her family at their ranch near Tohatchi. We decided that this was an opportunity not to be missed. When we arrived we were invited by Camilla and her husband Charles to join them and a few other family members to their arena. Camilla's dad is a well-known rodeo man who passed his skills on to any of his kids and grandkids who were interested in learning rodeo. Camilla's son Charlie, a 4th grader at Rehoboth, has learned well from his grandpa and has won awards in the local rodeo circuit. His favorite event is the steer riding. He demonstrated for us how he practices on an oil drum rigged up on springs.

We all got a chance to do some horseback riding in the arena that they built on their property. We hadn't been on horses for over 25 years, but it felt pretty good to get "back in the saddle". It was a lot of fun! Some of us took it at a trot and others got into a gallop.

After our time in the arena we all headed back to the house for supper. There were steaks being grilled by the men.

And fry bread being prepared by the women

Then we gathered in the house to meet and fellowship with all of Camilla's Aunties and Uncles and Cousins and even her Grandma. What a wonderful family!
