Bullock's Orioles and Hummingbirds in "Our Front Yard"

On May 15 Jack saw a pair of Bullock's Orioles on campus. That afternoon he put out oranges to attract them to "our yard". Since then we have had the male and female oriole, finches, hummingbirds and sparrows enjoying the oranges and the hummingbird feeder.

We also have a hummingbird nest on the light outside our apartment. She's fun to watch going from the nest to the feeder. She was very tolerant of our coming and going until we started taking pictures of her and her eggs.

Jack looked at his diary entry in 1989, and saw that he had commented about seeing the Bullock's Orioles arriving in Rehoboth on May 14. Guess you can set your calendar by their arrival.
